Today, I want to talk about circuit board assemblies—specifically, dealing with oxidized or dirty gold contacts (gold fingers). Over time, these contacts can accumulate oxidation simply from exposure to air, or they can get dirty, causing intermittent issues that require reseating the cards frequently.
A great tool to address this is a standard pink eraser:
This simple method often reduces (or eliminates) the need to repeatedly reseat circuit boards to maintain proper system functionality.
