Tech Tip – Difference Between Transmit Receive and Receive Only Coil

In this Tech Tip, Nestor will show us the difference between transmit-receive and receive-only coils.

Hello, my name is Nester, Senior Applications Instructor for DirectMed Imaging.

Here, we have a transmit/receive coil, such as the neuro coil. The defining feature of a transmit/receive coil is the copper plug located in the center of the connector.

In contrast, a receive-only coil does not have a copper plug in the center of its connector. Instead, it has a solid plastic piece in that spot.
